Giving Back to the Community
At Neverfail, we aim to make a long-lasting, positive impact on the community we operate in. As part of Coca-Cola Amatil, Neverfail is a proud supporter of the Michael Long Leadership & Learning Centre (MLLLC) in Darwin.
Fulfilling the vision of Australian Rules Football Great Michael Long, MLLLC provides an environment to foster the leadership and educational development of young Territorians, allowing them to realise their outstanding potential and value within their community, and the wider society. Using the solidarity that Australian Rules Football provides within these communities, the pride found within this sport is used to achieve educational outcomes and increase attendance in schools.
The MLLLC runs a 15 week program based within schools with the incentive of a one-week boarding attendance at the residence of MLLLC. through the program students engage in AFL themed educational sessions, focusing on health and wellbeing, numeracy and literacy, dental hygiene and local road safety. The goal is to strengthen student enrolment within secondary education and a path toward year 12 completion.
Established in 2015, the program has now seen 800 students from remote Northern Territory communities participate, and has developed positive outcomes. These include improved behaviour (with a reduction of violence) within students, a diversion from anti-social behaviour, the improvement of health and hygiene, and, naturally, good sportsmanship on and off the field.
As well as supporting this educational program, Neverfail recognises the complexities that reside within remote Indigenous communities we operate in, and are proud to play our part in in promoting the sustainability and wellbeing of our consumers and customers in these communities.
